INJECTION OPTIONS
Perineural injections can be an effective way of reducing sensitivity and inflammation associated with many nerve disorders, for example, carpal tunnel syndrome, or meralgia paraesthetica, a painful condition affecting the nerve supplying the outer part of the thigh.
A small volume of steroid can act as a potent anti-inflammatory at sites of nerve compression or irritation, reducing the pain, tingling and neural symptoms. It is important that these injections are performed under ultrasound guidance so as to avoid an inadvertent injury or trauma to the nerve.
