Shoulder issues make up a large proportion of the conditions seen at The Joint Injection Clinic.
Two of the most common conditions that we see in clinic are Frozen shoulder and Sub-Acromial Pain Syndrome(rotator-cuff pain).
Frozen shoulder tends to be more commonly seen in women, classically aged between 40 and 60, resulting in severe pain and gross restriction of range of movement of the shoulder. Subacromial pain syndrome describes conditions affecting the rotator cuff, which causes pain, particularly with overhead movements, and with activities, such as when putting on a jacket.
Both of these conditions are treated effectively with appropriate rehabilitation, but often require an injection as a way of reducing inflammation, pain and in order to facilitate ongoing range of movement and strengthening exercises.

Other common conditions include osteoarthritis of the ACJ, or the ball and socket joint, more commonly seen in the older population.
