Dr James Thing: Sport And Exercise Medicine Consultant

Dr James Thing (MBBS; BSc; MRCGP; FFSEM) is a UK-trained Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant specialising in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections. He has over 15 years of experience in his field. He has worked as a consultant in the NHS and teaches on internationally renowned ultrasound-guided injection courses.

He is a pitchside doctor for Harlequins Rugby in the English Premiership and has experience working at the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as co-ordinating trackside care for the Diamond League and Anniversary Games in Athletics. He has experience working at top-level tennis tournaments such as Edgbaston, Queens, Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

He has previously held consultant posts at the Oxford University Hospital Trust and within the Military. At Homerton Hospital he holds a post within the radiology department, undertaking musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections. He is a faculty member for the Postgraduate certification course for musculoskeletal ultrasound at the University of East London. He is a tournament doctor for the Wimbledon tennis championships and the Chief Medical Officer for Great Britain canoeing.

Dr Jonathan Korgaonkar

Jon is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant currently working in the NHS at Imperial College Healthcare as well as in professional sport and private practice. Jon has extensive experience in musculoskeletal medicine seeing patients of all ages with joint and muscle problems. He has worked in elite sport for premier league football clubs as well as the English Institute of Sport managing Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Jon has a postgraduate qualification in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and regularly carries out interventional procedures under ultrasound guidance to joints and soft tissues. His NHS work includes running an acute injury clinic at Imperial College Healthcare and covering community clinics for more chronic joint, muscle and tendon problems.

Jon is passionate about helping all individuals achieve their personal goal, whether this is competing in professional or amateur sport or managing muscle and joint pains that is affecting everyday activities.

Dr Richard Antbring

Dr Richard Antbring: Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant

Dr Richard Antbring is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant with extensive experience in managing both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries across all levels of physical activity. He has a particular interest in lower limb conditions, including groin, knee, and ankle injuries, and routinely uses diagnostic ultrasound during consultations to provide real-time assessments. He holds a postgraduate certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and is highly proficient in performing ultrasound-guided injections and other non-surgical interventions aimed at promoting recovery.

His clinical philosophy centres on personalised care, structured rehabilitation programmes, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Dr Antbring currently works with elite athletes at West Ham United Academy and Leyton Orient Football Club, and has previously supported professional tennis players through his involvement with the Lawn Tennis Association.

Dr Naeem Ahmed

Dr Naeem Ahmed: Musculoskeletal Radiology Consultant

Dr Naeem Ahmed (BEM FRCR FRCP) graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital with the St Thomas’ Hospital Cup (George Leach Trophy) graduation prize. He completed academic foundation training at King’s College Hospital before completing radiology training at St George’s Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Royal Brompton Hospital before completing a subspecialty musculoskeletal imaging Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust where he was appointed Consultant Radiologist.

Naeem has completed international clinical visitations at Massachusetts General Hospital (US), University Hospital Zurich and FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence Aspetar. He has over 50 publications and presentations, a postgraduate qualification in medical education, and won the British Medical Association Young Authors Award in 2017. He was awarded Medallist of the Order of the British Empire for services to volunteering and healthcare in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2019.
